Dehydration

Dehydrating your food is a great way to preserve all sorts of items, from meat to fruits. Dehydrating food has come a long way from laying or hanging it out to dry for days. Now we have the convenience of electric dehydrators and can get the job done in half the time. If your thinking about getting started with dehyradation check out a list of my favorites things

Fruit roll tray are a must if you are going to start your own food storage. It allows you to dehydrate on another level, from fruits to eggs. These go with the cuisinart dehydrator that I use. You must get trays that fit whatever dehydrator you are using. otherwise you will have spillage.

Air Tight Containers

These work great for storing dried foods that need to be kept dry and air tight. I also love how you can see what's in them and label them !

Mason Jars

Glass Jars

Glass jars always work great and you can use them for canning and other things as well once your done storing your dried foods in them

sealed lids

Air tight lids

If you already have a jar collection started just order you some air tight lids! Lids with the rubber rings work well and keep a good seal

wide mouth lids

I also like to use these airtight lids as long as you don't mind plastic. The different colors are great for organizing and sorting.

Metal lids

Metal Lids

If you like a more nostalgic look this metal lids work great! I use them to store dry goods, when I need to put a. lid on an opened can ( jar) in the fridge.
